magic garden:

Last week we were invited to visit a friend’s garden. She lives on Mountain Drive, in the canyon where the Tea fire burned, just a few years ago. The little valley is looking green and lush, and the land where this biodynamic garden is located is an oasis. There has been an organic garden here for over 50 years! In the center of the garden a giant sunflower is growing, a volunteer that sprouted up in the compost pile. There are lots of vegetables and flowers surrounding this area, and the garden terraces down the hillside, encompassing the adobe house where she lives with her husband of 35 years. We explored the garden, Mia made muffins with Miss Kathy while I wandered around to take photographs. We helped to harvest some veggies: cucumber, zucchini, string beans and basil. I have been enjoying cooking & eating these this week. The best part was the tea party with fresh baked muffins in the tree house!
